Location: Somerville, MA
Commitment: Part-time, June 1 – August 23, 2025Rehearsals: Three nights a week (June 1 – August 11)
Tech Week: August 12 & 13
Performances: August 14, 15, 16, and 21, 22, 23 (Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays)
Weekly production meetings (primarily on Zoom, occasionally in person)
The Stage Manager must be present for all tech rehearsals and performances; rehearsal attendance can be flexible based on scheduling needs.
About the Role
Moonstruck Theater Company is seeking a Stage Manager for our summer production of Reefer Madness. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented individual with a passion for theater production. The Stage Manager will be the backbone of the rehearsal process and performances, ensuring smooth communication between cast, crew, and the creative team.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and run rehearsals, maintaining the production schedule
Take detailed blocking and production notes for the director
Serve as the primary point of communication between the production team, cast, and crew
Call cues and manage backstage operations during performances
Ensure rehearsal and performance spaces are properly set up and maintained
Track props, set pieces, and costume changes in collaboration with designers
Handle any on-the-fly problem-solving to keep the show running smoothly
Ideal Candidate
Previous stage management or assistant stage management experience preferred
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Strong communication and leadership abilities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure
Familiarity with cue calling, rehearsal reports, and standard SM procedures

About the Role
Moonstruck Theater Company is seeking a Props Intern to assist with Reefer Madness. This role is perfect for someone who loves hands-on creativity, attention to detail, and theatrical storytelling. The Props Intern will work closely with the production team to source, build, and maintain props that help bring the world of the show to life.
Responsibilities
Assist in sourcing, building, and maintaining props for rehearsals and performances
Ensure props align with the artistic vision of the production
Organize and track props throughout the rehearsal and performance process
Work closely with the director and designers to execute creative solutions
Support backstage prop handoffs and transitions during tech week and performances
Ideal Candidate
Passion for theater production and prop design
Creative thinker with problem-solving skills
Comfortable working with various materials (wood, fabric, paint, etc.)
Organized and detail-oriented
Previous experience with crafting, painting, or design is a plus but not required

About the Role
Moonstruck Theater Company is looking for a Social Media & Marketing Intern to help promote Reefer Madness and engage our audience. If you love digital storytelling, social media trends, and creating engaging content, this is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in arts marketing.
Responsibilities
Develop and schedule engaging social media content (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
Capture and edit behind-the-scenes moments from rehearsals and performances
Design promotional graphics, short-form videos, and other marketing materials
Engage with followers, respond to comments, and foster audience interaction
Track engagement metrics and suggest improvements to increase visibility
Ideal Candidate
Passionate about theater, digital marketing, and content creation
Familiar with social media platforms and marketing tools (Canva, CapCut, Adobe, etc.)
Creative thinker with strong communication and storytelling skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with a team

About the Role
Moonstruck Theater Company is looking for a Costume Design Intern to assist with Reefer Madness. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in theatrical costume design, fashion history, and hands-on creative work.
Responsibilities
Assist the costume designer with research, sketches, and sourcing materials
Help organize fittings, alterations, and wardrobe tracking
Maintain and repair costumes as needed throughout the production
Support backstage quick changes and costume management during performances
Ideal Candidate
Passion for costume design and theatrical fashion
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Basic sewing skills (helpful but not required)
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

About the Role
Moonstruck Theater Company is seeking a Dramaturgy Intern to support our production of Reefer Madness. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about theater research, storytelling, and audience engagement. You’ll work closely with the director and cast to deepen the show’s historical and thematic understanding.
Responsibilities
Conduct research on the historical and cultural context of Reefer Madness (1930s propaganda, moral panic, etc.)
Provide dramaturgical insights to the cast and creative team
Assist in writing program notes, educational materials, and audience engagement initiatives
Help develop pre-show discussions or dramaturgy packets for the production team
Ideal Candidate
Strong research and writing skills, with a passion for theater history
Ability to synthesize information in a clear and engaging way
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Previous dramaturgy experience is a plus, but not required

About the Role
Moonstruck Theater Company is seeking a General Arts Administration Intern to assist with the behind-the-scenes operations of Reefer Madness. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit management, event coordination, and arts administration. You’ll gain hands-on experience managing the logistics that keep a theater company running while working closely with the production team.
Responsibilities
Assist with scheduling, production coordination, and administrative tasks
Help with budgeting, fundraising efforts, and donor communications
Organize production documents and support company management
Assist with audience engagement, ticketing, and front-of-house logistics
Provide general support to the producer and creative team as needed
Ideal Candidate
Interest in arts administration, event planning, or nonprofit management
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Prior experience in administrative or event planning roles is a plus, but not required
